To the Citizens of Michigan’s 12th State Senate District

This state cannot continue to do the same things and expect to have different results. What has the state done to address its STRUCTURAL DEFICIT? - NOTHING! Their only solution is to create MORE NEW TAXES, in fact 43 PLUS new taxes, fees, and fines have been levied on the public. We have a new BUSINESS TAX SURCHARGE of 21.99%, a proven business killer for our state. We have a new INCOME TAX of .45 mills to make up for budget shortfalls.

As your State Senator, one of the issues I will address is investigating ways to create STEADY REVENUE STREAMS and VARIABLE REVENUE STREAMS in order to adjust the CYCLICAL and ECONOMIC DOWNTURNS we face now and in the future. Extending budget projections at least two years out, as Oakland County has done, is another way to prepare for adjustments to the state budgeting process. Not the radical budget cuts which our schools face today.

As your State Senator I will address the uncapped social spending that is draining school funding. Our state government is too BIG. Once elected I will address the much needed STATE STRUCTURAL REFORM causing cost overruns and deficits we can no longer afford.
