John Garfield has been married for 30 years to his wife Carrie Ann Garfield. They have three grown children Tonya, Christina, and Arman. He is an Armenian Orthodox Catholic who is Pro-Life, Pro-Business, Pro-2nd Amendment, Pro-Property Rights, and Fiscal Conservative. John has spent six years in the U.S. Army, is a Vietnam Veteran and served with the 1st Signal Brigade, attached to the 196th Light Infantry Brigade of the Americal Division. John has been a proud owner of a small business, founding the company “Convergent Technologies L.L.C.” specializing user friendly convergence on multiple platforms in virtual technologies. He has helped in specializing health care in non-traditional areas. John has served as a Oakland County Commissioner from the years of 1993 – 2002. John has also been elected Michigan State Representative for the 45th District (Rochester, Rochester Hills, and Oakland Township) from 2003 – 2008.
As a Legislator, John authored the bill that changed Michigan’s Drivers Responsibility Act. Michigan drivers would no longer be fined $200 for not having their proof of insurance on them, SAVING tax payers $3.2 million dollars per year annually. John P. Garfield received the “Guardian Of Small Business Award” from the National Federation of Independent Business for a 100% small business voting record.
